Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll meet in the Plaza Mayor, in front of the Tourist Information Office. This grand baroque square is the meeting point for locals and the beating heart of the city, so there's no better place to begin.

From here, we'll set off along the Rúa Mayor, the main artery of the old town, on our way to the Casa de las Conchas, the 15th-century palace covered in over 300 carved scallop shells, and La Clerecía, the imposing baroque complex that towers over it from across the street.

But Salamanca is known around the world above all for being home to one of the oldest universities on the planet. We'll admire the historic building and its extraordinary Plateresque facade, one of the highlights of the tour. Hidden somewhere in that intricate stonework is the famous frog. Will you be able to spot it?

There are still more surprises awaiting you. We'll explore the Patio de Escuelas Mayores and the Patio de Escuelas Menores, and of course the Cielo de Salamanca, a remarkable medieval fresco of the night sky that will leave you speechless.

Finally, it'll be time to visit the cathedrals. Salamanca has two: the Old and the New, standing side by side. We'll explain why this city ended up with a pair of cathedrals, something you won't often find elsewhere in Europe.

Our tour will come to an end after 1.5 hours of exploring its secrets together.
