Loch Ness & The Highlands Day Trip
Day Trip Details
From Glasgow, our Loch Ness tour will travel north, making a refreshment stop on the shores of Loch Lomond.
Travelling the length of the loch, we climb up into the Highlands, over the unique and dramatic landscape of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount to the majestic Glencoe, one of Scotland's most haunting glens and the site of the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan.
Continuing via Loch Linnhe, we'll stop in the Fort William area for lunch before heading into the natural beauty of the Great Glen, passing beneath Britain's highest mountain. Travelling on, we'll arrive in the pretty village of Fort Augustus, where you'll have the chance to cruise Loch Ness (optional extra) or spend time at its shore.
At 24 miles (39 km) long and 700 feet (213 meters) deep, Loch Ness is most famous for its sightings of the Loch Ness Monster, affectionately known as Nessie.
From Fort Augustus, the tour will begin its return to Glasgow, crossing the Grampian Mountains and the woodland scenery of Perthshire, including the Forest of Atholl, with an evening refreshment stop at the Victorian resort town of Pitlochry en route.
